Why single estate

Labels louder than the leaf.

Most people have never tasted real Indian tea. Not the dusty supermarket “chai”, not the flavoured bags printed with the word premium. We started Peont to fix that.

The problem

What is actually in most tea.

01

Fake flavours everywhere

Most teas taste “strong” only because artificial aroma was pumped into them. The fragrance lasts five seconds. The taste disappears instantly.

02

Old and stale, sold as fresh

Big brands store tea in warehouses for months. By the time it reaches you the aroma is dead and the leaf has lost its strength.

03

Cheap dust as “premium”

A lot of packaged tea is dust and fannings, the leftovers of real leaves. It brews fast and tastes flat, harsh and bitter.

04

Overpriced gourmet blends

Fancy names, shiny boxes, five percent real ingredients. The experience rarely matches the hype.

05

Zero transparency

Most blends hide what is inside. Real spice, dried flavouring, or chemical droplets on the leaf: you never find out.

06

Tea got boring

Every brand looks the same, tastes the same and markets the same. No story, no freshness, just another box on the shelf.

The Peont way

Six things we do instead.

01

Honesty first, always

We show you where your tea comes from. No fairy tales, no invented heritage, no hiding.

02

From the land, not the market

Your tea comes straight from the grower, not from dusty auction lots or middlemen.

03

Tea that changes with the season

Real tea carries the character of its harvest. We follow nature's rhythm, not artificial consistency.

04

Fresh means fresh

Harvest-season tea, packed at the estate. Not old inventory sitting for months.

05

For people who care what they bring home

This tea is for the ones who choose better and think long-term, for themselves and the people they love.

06

Trust is the product

The tea is just the beginning. What we really deliver is confidence in every cup.

Our mission

Bring real tea back.

We saw a problem. Great estates grow incredible tea, but what reaches customers is usually a mix of leftovers, anonymous origins and shortcuts. Darjeeling that isn't really Darjeeling. Assam blended until it loses its soul. Labels louder than the leaf.

No mixing. No fillers. No pretending. Just single-estate tea, unaltered and true to its origin.

We work directly with the gardens, choose only whole-leaf harvests, and keep every tea exactly as the estate made it. Nothing extra added, nothing real taken away.

Our promise is simple: authentic tea from honest estates, the way nature grows it and the way it deserves to be experienced.

The estate

Khongea, Assam.

Khongea sits in upper Assam on the south bank of the Brahmaputra, about 300 feet above sea level in a hot, wet, tropical climate that makes tea grow thick and malty. It was planted in the late nineteenth century and has been owned and run by one family since 1949.

It is one of the highest-yielding gardens in Assam and its factory is used as a model by the rest of the industry. It is also one of the few estates in the valley growing P126 clonal bushes, which produce an unusual proportion of large golden tips. That is where our Golden Tips comes from, and why it tastes the way it does.

Every winter the estate holds Khongea Diwas, a festival where the family and every worker gather to celebrate the year and hand out prizes for the best pluckers and pruning teams. Our Darjeeling teas come from the hills below Kanchenjunga, from the same family of gardens.

Love & Care

Taste the difference an address makes.

Every pouch says Khongea or Darjeeling on the front. That is the whole point.
